Below is the additional 15 stage continuous mode rolling through intro mode including in car view. I’ve shortened each stage to make it a 3 minute video. On 15 Stage continuous mode there is no fork in the road, the stages blend together and the music tracks play back to back.

Here’s how to install Cannonball to your JXD GAMEPAD

1. Download the .APK file to your JXD / ANDROID device from the link above.

2. Find the Cannonball.apk file on your JXD using the APKinstaller app that came with the JXD.

3.Select Install using the APKinstaller app.

4.install the file to your device.

5.Open the APKinstaller again and select ‘Manage’

6.Select the Cannonball file and select Export to create a Cannonball app Icon on your home screen.

Recent OutRun pick up

Just thought I would share my recent OutRun item that I picked up at Auction.
It’s a 1986 SEGA game card from the 24th Amusement Show in Japan.

This show was where SEGA first showed OutRun to the press and public and the card could be dispensed from a vending machine and used from credits within the SEGA stand.

Here’s a write up from a while back HERE

Custom Built OutRun Testarossa by Vic Veinz

We’ve seen a few excellent custom OutRun models before but this is a first for custom poseable figures.
IMG_0779.JPG

Vic has used pieces from various other figures to create these custom OutRun characters. Alberto the driver of the ferrari was made with Wolverine arms. His face and head from Daredevil with painted black glasses . Clarissa uses parts from Street Fighter 2’s Cammy and other figures.

The Ferrari is a 1:12 scale Testarossa kit by Monogram. The car was modified into a convertible by cutting off the top half.

3DS receives another great SEGA classic

Out in Japan this week through the Nintendo eShop is M2 and SEGA’s classic helicopter sprite scaler Thunderblade.

IMG_2715.JPG
Thunderblade is the 13th 3D release and we’ve not seen this game released on a console since the late 80’s / early 90’s.

Through Google Translate it seems that Yosuke Okunari (SEGA 3D project leader) has indicated this may be the last 3D release of the second wave of games. The 2nd wave included Afterburner, OutRun and also Fantasy Zone I & II.

Here’s a great line up of the original arcades that have had the 3DS treatment.

Hopefully this means that Europe, Australia and the U.S get the the second wave announced in the next few months.

LAI (Leisure Allied Industries) Sitdown OutRun Arcade Machine (Updated 11/09)

This is an interesting OutRun machine and very unlike any other released.

It was manufactured at L.A.I. Perth from a kit supplied by Sega Japan.

This version was only released in Australia.

Above – the screen bezel follows a similar style to the glass surround on the Japan exclusive sitdown OutRun.

Above – the left panel has the Road map, print detailing of buttons like the std sitdown, red stripe, OutRun logo and a LAI logo (Also seen below)

Above- the rear has working light and quad exhausts like the deluxe.

So there you have it, another style of OutRun machine exclusive to Australia.

Thanks to Bruce Colbourne, M.D of Amusement Machine Distributors (Previously Sales Manager at LAI N.S.W) and also Steve Bryant International Sales Manager at Leisure & Allied Industries for their time and support trying to pull some history on this now rare arcade machine.

OutRun Telephone Card (Japan)

Previously we found two OutRun themed arcade cards, today I spotted for the first time an OutRun themed Telephone Card released in the 80’s by tele communication group NTT.
The item has appeared on a Japanese auction site, it will be interesting to see the closing bid value.
